Competitive Cheerleading
Competitive cheerleading is not like most organized sports where there is a “bench”, back-up players, and a nine week season. Cheerleading is 100% a team sport. This is your team. All of the athletes on the team rely on you, and you on them. If you are not there to do your part, it will not get done. It is twelve months of commitment. It is hard work, but also very rewarding. When you join our competition team, you and your parents are fully responsible and agree to follow our financial policy, rules for good sportsmanship, and team expectations so everyone in the program has a positive experience.
The Commitment
The commitment begins when you try-out for the competition teams. Each team practices two days a week, two hours each day. Coaches strongly encourage each athlete to enroll in extra tumbling. It is a great opportunity to continue improving skills outside of the team practices. Along with practice times, the cheerleaders compete in multiple competitions throughout the fall and winter. The competition dates vary, but on average an athlete can expect one competition a month from November to May. It is mandatory for athletes to be at all practices and competitions. Competitions are typically on Saturdays and/or Sundays. To help with travel time, the majority of the competitions are in the state of Ohio.
